The Book City Chain

Book City began trading in 1979 when the first company store was opened in Ballarat, Victoria. Stores were progressively added increasing Book City's size and coverage across five states.

In 1994 franchising began re-positioning the Book City name within the book industry. There are now 28 stores across the eastern states of Australia. Book City is constantly being sought by land lords and offered excellent sites all around Australia.
